Jose Sarduy's life sounds made up. It isn't. Born in Cuba with a father serving as a political prisoner, his family was deported to the United States — and landed in one of the most wonderfully chaotic Cuban households ever assembled. His mother could take down a chicken with her bare hands. His father could charm anyone in the room. There was never a dull moment.

After high school, Jose earned an appointment to the U.S. Air Force Academy, became an aviator, and deployed to both Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom. He has traveled the world, been shot at in two different countries, and gathered a lifetime's worth of material from the skies and everywhere below.

All of it — the chaos, the culture, the danger, and the joy — fuels his comedy. If you can't laugh at the hard moments in your life, you're not over them yet.
